The Book of Hours

The legendary Rossdhu ‘Book of Hours’ is a much venerated and treasured testimony to Clan Colquhoun’s long history around these lands.

A richly illuminated manuscript, it bears the personal annotations of its original owner, Elizabeth Dunbar, 8th Countess of Moray.

This is a book that has not only travelled through time, but also around the world — with the first imprint finding its way from Colquhoun country to a London vintage bookstore, bought in 1863 and then later donated to Auckland Library, New Zealand.
