On the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, a 17th-century coaching inn is opening its doors for Christmas. Just fifteen rooms.
The Loch Lomond Arms sits in the conservation village of Luss, a few steps from the water and at the heart of the 45,000-acre Luss Estate. Candlelight in the village church, a choir at the door, and the Scottish Highlands going quiet under winter.
From the Luss Christmas Fair in November to candlelight in the church on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day lunch by the fire and a Highland Hogmanay — the whole festive season, in the heart of Colquhoun Country.

Three Festive Breaks on Loch Lomond
Christmas itself, the still days that follow it, and Hogmanay in the Highlands. Fifteen rooms only — we keep it small on purpose.

You arrive from 1pm on Christmas Eve to a choir singing you in, a drink and warm mince pies. Dinner is early, because at seven we walk down to Luss Church for the Candlelight Orchestra — built by a Colquhoun in 1875 and lit by candles every December since. Mulled wine by the fire when we come back up the road.
Christmas Day is a gift at your door, Champagne at breakfast and a long lunch that takes most of the afternoon. Boxing Day is slower still: a tasting in the Map Room, stories by the fire as it gets dark, dinner after.

A proper Scottish New Year — the pipes, the bells, and a fire to come back to.

Arrive from 1pm on Hogmanay and settle in before the piper strikes up. Dinner that evening, then we gather for the bells, a midnight toast and first footing as the year turns, with a ceilidh to carry it on.
New Year's Day asks nothing of you. A slow brunch, Bloody Marys, the fire lit early, and steak pie for dinner as it should be.

A string quartet by candlelight in Luss Parish Church, a few steps from our door. Built by a Colquhoun in 1875 and lit by candles every December since, and open to everyone.

The Luss Christmas Fair
The village turns out for the day — local makers, food and drink, and the proper start of Christmas in Luss. Free to come along, and no booking needed.
