THE ARTIST'S STORY
The Battle of The Trojan Stag
❖
Corin Sands
This special commission by artist Corin Sands carefully depicts the origins of the Clan Colquhoun coat of arms and motto 'Si Je Puis' – If I Can.
Working in oils, Corin brings to life the story of the Trojan Stag, where Sir John Colquhoun is said to have vanquished Dumbarton Castle, at the request of James II of Scotland.
That he did so without shedding an ounce of blood is testament to his ingenuity and stagecraft – the story of which the careful-eyed will be rewarded with on taking in this unique work.
