Lady Anne Colquhoun, the only daughter of Sir Humphrey Colquhoun, was a formidable figure whose determination helped shape both the future of her family and the enduring legacy of Clan Colquhoun.

On succeeding to her father's estates in 1718, Anne became the guiding force behind the stewardship of Colquhoun and Luss, carefully protecting the lands for her young son Humphrey and later for her second son, Ludovick, who inherited the estate at just twelve years of age.

Her life was divided between Rossdhu and Castle Grant after her husband inherited the Grant estates, balancing the responsibilities of two great Highland families while raising fourteen children through changing fortunes and political uncertainty.

With quiet authority and remarkable resolve, Lady Anne secured the continuity of Colquhoun Country for future generations. Her legacy is one of resilience, stewardship and strategic leadership, ensuring the clan's lands and identity endured through a pivotal chapter in its history.
