Christmas at
the Arms
Christmas and Hogmanay breaks on Loch Lomond, in a 17th-century Highland coaching inn with a fire in every hearth.
The Loch Lomond Arms sits in the conservation village of Luss, a few steps from the water and at the heart of the 45,000-acre Luss Estate. For three hundred years this inn has kept Christmas in this village, and it keeps it still — candlelight in the church, a choir at the door, and the Highlands going quiet under winter.
Three festive breaks this season: Christmas itself, the still days that follow it, and a Highland Hogmanay on the loch. An hour from Glasgow, ninety minutes from Edinburgh.
Christmas at Candlelight
An orchestra by candlelight in the village church on Christmas Eve, a few steps from our door. Tickets £42, open to all.

Christmas at the Arms
Price on request
Arriving on Christmas Eve, you'll be welcomed from one o'clock by a choir singing in the hall, and a gift waiting in your room. Dinner in The Treasury, then the few steps to Luss Parish Church where an orchestra plays by candlelight.
Christmas morning is breakfast at your own pace, then lunch with all the trimmings. After it the inn is your house for the afternoon, and there is nowhere at all you need to be.
Boxing Day is the Luss Estate — a guided winter walk through the glen, or a private 4x4 into the hills above Loch Lomond — then relaxed dining, and a slow last morning before you leave us on the 27th.
Fifteen rooms only. We keep it small on purpose.
The Twixmas Escape
Price on request
The quiet days between Christmas and New Year, when the village is still and the hills above Loch Lomond belong to whoever walks them.
Arrive to a whisky flight beside the fire, chosen to be drunk slowly. Dinner that evening is in The Treasury, unhurried, with estate produce cooked simply and well.
The following day is a private run around the Luss Estate in a 4x4 — 45,000 acres of loch, forest and mountain with barely another soul in it. Breakfast each morning, and a check-out that isn't in any rush.
For the slower end of the season.
The Hogmanay Gathering
Price on request
A piper welcomes you in on New Year's Eve. Dinner follows, paired through the evening with whisky from Luss Distillery down the road, then the bells, a toast at midnight and a proper first footing over the threshold in the old way.
New Year's Day asks nothing of anyone. A recovery brunch, an estate experience for whoever's up to it, and traditional steak pie in the evening. Check-out on the 2nd whenever you're ready.
Residents only. The whole inn, and no one else.
